The North Face – Logo Composite & VFX Course Project, Seneca Polytechnic, 2024
This VFX composite was developed as part of a logo animation assignment at Seneca Polytechnic. I selected The North Face because of its strong identity rooted in durability, nature, and emotional connection to exploration. The goal was to create a full environmental scene from individual static assets — then integrate the logo meaningfully into the story.
To bring the concept to life, I built a dramatic, rainy outdoor scene using multiple sources: a man standing still, a rushing waterfall, rocky terrain, and moody lighting elements. Each visual component came from a different stock or asset library and was composited in Adobe After Effects. I used techniques like rainfall simulation, fog and steam generation, depth layering, and puppet pin movements to create a sense of atmosphere and motion. The logo slowly emerges from the mist, concluding with the iconic “Never Stop Exploring” tagline — reinforcing the spirit of endurance and raw nature.
Never Stop Exploring
The logo isn’t just placed — it rises out of nature, visually merging The North Face with the rugged environment it was built for.A moody, layered VFX composition that transforms disjointed stills into an emotionally immersive visual narrative. It visually connects product function (rain gear) with brand values (resilience, exploration, harmony with nature).
To simulate a full environmental branding animation where a logo emerges from a living, breathing world — using only static images and After Effects tools. The project emphasizes emotional storytelling through natural effects.
