  • THE OIL & GAS YEAR

  • This infographic was developed for The Oil & Gas Year (2017) to provide a regional comparison of oil reserves, production capacities, and field significance across the Gulf. By leveraging ArcGIS for accurate geographical placement and layering custom vector visuals, the map highlights Kuwait’s relative strength in oil and gas alongside key players like Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Iraq.

The visualization includes five of the Middle East’s largest oil and gas fields, as well as reserve share and R/P (Reserves-to-Production) ratios — presenting a clear, data-backed portrait of where Kuwait stands in the global conversation.

  • Empower energy stakeholders to grasp the scale, potential, and positioning of Gulf nations — with Kuwait holding its ground as a key player despite its size.

  • Even without the highest reserves, Kuwait’s legacy fields and stable output cement its relevance among the region’s oil giants.

  • To distill comparative regional energy data into a single, easy-to-read infographic that supports policy insights, investment reports, and editorial storytelling.

  • Balancing multiple data scales — global share, national reserves, and field-level metrics — while maintaining visual clarity and geographic accuracy was a major challenge.

  • The design was featured prominently in the 2017 edition of The Oil & Gas Year – Kuwait and helped clarify Kuwait’s strategic value. The layered use of maps, charts, and iconography offered both macro and micro views, making the piece suitable for both policy discussion and public presentation.
