An edtech startup on a mission to inspire children through STEM education
As the Design Manager at Twin Science & Robotics, I led the creative direction of the brand from its early startup phase through global expansion and award-winning recognition. Over three years, I built and implemented the company’s visual identity from scratch — encompassing the logo system, color strategy, illustration style, typography, and tone of voice. But beyond aesthetics, this work represented something much deeper: the chance to make science and technology accessible, inclusive, and inspiring for every child, especially those in underserved regions.
Twin wasn’t just a product; it was a purpose-driven platform. I crafted everything from UI design in the mobile app, JSON-based animations, and mascots to packaging, brochures, conference visuals, and marketing campaigns. These efforts helped position Twin as a leader in responsible STEM education. From collaborating with the London marketing team to coordinating with offshore developers, I ensured that every asset was cohesive and resonant — whether it was a roll-up banner at BETT UK, a campaign alongside Antony Jinman in Antarctica, or an infographic in a World Economic Forum application.

STEM for Good — That’s the heartbeat of Twin’s identity, and the central message I embedded into every design. Our visuals always invited engagement, whether it was encouraging a child to complete an at-home STEM challenge, a parent to join the Twin app community, or a policymaker to support equitable tech education. Clear, hopeful, and action-oriented messaging — like “Build the Future, One Experiment at a Time” or “Dream. Design. Discover.” — helped anchor our campaigns.
Design has power when it carries purpose. My work at Twin proved that thoughtful, mission-aligned visual communication can fuel a global education movement. I didn’t just create interfaces or posters; I helped children in refugee camps build science kits, brought climate science to life for kids in inner cities, and visually translated the dreams of a startup into reality — seen, trusted, and celebrated on the world stage.

Content Complexity: Communicating advanced topics like microplastics, AI ethics, or robotics to children aged 7–12 required relentless testing and creative visual problem-solving.
-
Cross-Team Remote Coordination: With marketing in London, dev teams in Turkey and the UK, and stakeholders globally, it took strategic planning to maintain brand consistency across time zones and cultures.
-
Fast Turnarounds, High Stakes: Whether it was a WEF submission, a live campaign for refugee outreach, or a last-minute investor pitch, deadlines were tight — and creative quality could not slip. Wearing multiple hats, I balanced motion design, UI decisions, visual storytelling, and copy structuring under real pressure.

Created the company’s brand from scratch — logo system, color palette, type hierarchy, and illustration guidelines — rolled out across packaging, app UI, websites, decks, and print.
Art directed the Antarctica Climate Campaign with Antony Jinman, blending real-time video, interactive app content, and climate trivia to reach children worldwide. The campaign earned global praise and contributed to Twin’s World Economic Forum Tech Pioneer selection.
Created engaging, gamified animations and adventures for the Twin app, enabling children aged 7 and older to easily and joyfully explore STEM activities. I was responsible for the character design and animation interactions throughout all app layers.
Oversaw a full redesign of Twin’s website, updating it to match the new brand identity and to better convert visitors into active users or partners. The new site featured a vibrant color scheme, custom illustrations, and clear messaging about Twin’s products and mission. I restructured the information architecture to make navigation family-friendly – for instance, separate easy-to-find sections for “Parents”, “Educators”, and “Partners”. As a result, the website not only looked cohesive and modern, but also saw improved metrics (bounce rates dropped and sign-ups increased post-relaunch).
Designed a wide array of printed and event materials from scratch. This included packaging for Twin’s physical STEM kits (with fun graphics and instructions that kids can follow), eye-catching roll-up banners and booth designs for science fairs and conferences, brochures and one-pagers for school outreach, as well as educational posters aligning with UN SDGs for classroom use. For example, I designed an “8-Week Environmental Education Program” poster series that teachers used to incorporate the Twin app into their lessons on climate action and sustainable innovations. These tangible touchpoints helped establish credibility when Twin appeared at events or in schools – our booths and handouts were just as engaging as our digital presence.
I built Twin’s social media visual communication strategy from the ground up. This included developing branded templates, setting up a consistent visual tone, and managing a cross-platform content calendar for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. Whether it was an inspirational quote, a science trivia post, or a spotlight on user-generated projects, every asset was designed to be visually cohesive and instantly recognizable. I also created short videos and motion graphics tailored for social engagement. Over three years, Twin’s follower base and engagement grew steadily, fueled by these authentic, community-driven visuals. Our platforms evolved into an active hub where parents, educators, and children shared their own STEM experiences — organically amplifying the Twin brand.
Created visuals for campaigns delivering twin kits and content to rural schools in Africa and refugee communities, supported by partners like Rolls-Royce and Microsoft.
