Castizzo — Premium Olive Oil producer, Spain (Established 1988)
Brand identity redesign, packaging design, label system creation, visual storytelling direction.
Castizzo’s previous branding leaned toward an Italian aesthetic, with outdated color tones and limited storytelling around its Spanish heritage. My goal was to bring the consumer directly into a sunlit Spanish olive grove, celebrating the craft and origin of the oil. I redesigned the brand identity to reflect authentic Spanish roots, refined the color palette to evoke warmth and sunlight, and created a packaging system highlighting each oil variety, including olive, avocado, and floral oils.
Inviting buyers to experience the taste of Spain — from grove to table.
A visual and tactile brand refresh that moves Castizzo from generic to place-specific, elevating perceived quality while creating emotional connection with the origin story.
-
Capture the essence of Spanish olive oil production through evocative visuals and color storytelling.
-
Differentiate Castizzo from competitors by emphasizing authenticity, sunlight, and the natural environment.
-
Design a label system adaptable to multiple product lines.

-
Pain Points: Previous design’s Italian cues confused the origin story; olive imagery lacked clarity and was hidden under a plastic wrap; brand narrative was underdeveloped; color scheme felt muted and outdated.
-
Achievements: Developed a cohesive identity rooted in Spanish heritage; incorporated transparent labels with hand-sketched olive leaves for authenticity; adjusted color and texture to reflect the richness of the oil; designed packaging that celebrates the product’s purity and sunlight-grown flavor; ensured adaptability for future product expansions.
