For two consecutive editions of The Oil & Gas Year Nigeria, I created LEKOIL’s full-page ads, visually defining their bold narrative as one of Africa’s leading indigenous oil companies. The concept centered around the cheetah—a symbol LEKOIL resonates with deeply—chosen for its speed and power, aligning with the company's swift ascent in the sector. The cheetah’s motion across an African desert not only grounded the brand in its roots but positioned it as a force moving confidently into the future.
Shaping the Future of Oil Exploration and Production in Africa
This campaign blended strong African symbolism with a global corporate identity, emphasizing LEKOIL’s speed, independence, and technological ambition within the evolving energy landscape.
To highlight LEKOIL’s transition from a bold vision to a producing operator, while visually distinguishing them from other multinational competitors in a crowded energy space.
The client had strong attachment to the cheetah motif and specific brand guidelines. My challenge was to honor their visual icon while elevating it with original layouts and narrative continuity across two campaign years.
Both editions were published with full creative alignment between Lagos, London, and U.S. offices—establishing LEKOIL’s visual story as both authentically African and forward-looking.
